Havana, Cuba LIGHT School
Training Workers. Reaching Cities. Sharing Christ.
“The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few.” — Matthew 9:37
Havana, Cuba LIGHT School
Many people in Cuba are still waiting to hear the gospel. Across the country there are more than 1,000 cities and communities without a church, and many people who have never had the opportunity to hear the message of hope found in Jesus Christ.
Through the LIGHT School training program, believers are being equipped to share the gospel, serve their communities, and help establish new churches throughout Cuba. These dedicated students are answering God’s call to become Bible workers, missionaries, and leaders in their communities.
We have seen God move in powerful ways as students come together with a shared mission: to reach Cuba for Christ.
Our Mission
Our goal is to train and support workers who will bring the gospel to communities that have not yet been reached.
Through prayer and careful planning, this mission focuses on several key steps:
- Hosting LIGHT School training programs to prepare students for ministry
- Supporting graduates as Bible workers in their communities
- Organizing youth-led evangelistic meetings
- Establishing new house churches in unreached cities.
Lives Changed Through Training
Students who attend LIGHT School often make significant sacrifices to follow God’s calling. Many leave jobs, opportunities, and comfort in order to pursue ministry and serve others.
One young student chose to leave a government school that promised financial security in order to dedicate her life to mission work. Though others questioned her decision, she completed the training and is now serving as a Bible worker, sharing the love of Christ with others in her community.
Stories like hers remind us that God equips those who are willing to serve.
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” — Matthew 5:6
A Growing Work
What began as a plan to support a handful of Bible workers has grown through God’s provision. Today, many more students are being trained and sent out to serve in new areas.
Some graduates remain in their hometowns, strengthening their local churches. Others are sent to new and unreached towns, helping establish ministries where none existed before.
Through prayer and unity, students embrace whatever role God calls them to fulfill.
Christ’s Method of Ministry
The work being done in Cuba follows the example Christ gave:
“Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Savior mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, ‘Follow Me.’” — Ministry of Healing, p.143
By meeting people’s physical and spiritual needs, these workers are helping communities discover hope, healing, and faith.
